One of the challenges in drip irrigation systems is the uniformity of water distribution and the clogging of emitters. In this study, the effect of the SFI screen filter on the coefficient of flow variation, distribution uniformity, and the percentage of clogging of drip tapes was investigated. The treatments included drip tape spacing at two levels of 75 cm (A1) and 1.5 m (A2), and drip tapes with two emitter discharge rates of Q1 = 1.5 L h⁻¹ and Q2 = 2.5 L h⁻¹. Emitter discharge was measured by collecting water over a 5-minute period. Based on the discharge measurements, the coefficient of flow variation, distribution uniformity, and clogging percentage were calculated over 15 irrigation events. The results showed that, in treatments A1Q1, A2Q1, A1Q2, and A2Q2, the average clogging percentage increased by 34.82%, 13.56%, 4.89%, and 20.40%, respectively, from the first to the seventh irrigation event. From the seventh irrigation onward, following the activation of the SFI filtration system, the clogging percentage exhibited a stable trend up to the fifteenth irrigation. Furthermore, despite the presence of SFI filtration, the distribution uniformity of the different treatments became more similar to each other.
